Should you upgrade to Windows 11?

windows 11

Our customers always ask the following questions:

Do I need to upgrade to a newer operating system version? and will I get any benefit doing so?

and these are very important questions, why would you change into a new interface? many of us don’t really like changes but sometimes, this change is a most and we have to do it, like unsupported and end of life operating systems and software’s, means no more new security updates patches, no more new features. Basically you feel like you have been left behind unsecure.

Here where you need to think what options do you have? upgrade the computer OR get a new computer?

if you decided to keep your computer and don’t want to spend much at this time, then the next question comes will this computer be able to be functioning and would it be compatible with the new version?

Windows 11, has many requirements your computer should meet first in order to upgrade

like CPU model if it is supported, TPM, secure boot and disk space

secure boot can be enabled from bios, disk space you need to make sure you have enough free space

memory / RAM at least as per Microsoft you should have 4 GB.

Processor1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
RAM4 gigabyte (GB).
Storage64 GB or larger storage device Note: See below under “More information on storage space to keep Windows 11 up-to-date” for more details.
System firmwareUEFI, Secure Boot capable. Check here for information on how your PC might be able to meet this requirement.

Now, does Apamea Tech recommend customers to go to windows 11?

Windows 10 has been there for years, users became very familiar with it, the applications they use, are supported their work/study/gaming

being ok then why to struggle with a new interface, new systems might have bugs and issues, and might have some applications still not yet supported, keep in mind, even if your computer able and compatible with windows 11 this doesn’t mean it will work perfectly.

if we are concerned about windows 10 end of life date, relax, because Windows 10 will stay supported until October 14, 2025

until then, windows 11 is not recommended unless you have no specific gaming or application needs, you just use your computer for browsing the internet and maybe to type few words in word or making few PowerPoint presentations, then yes if your computer support window 11 and you want to keep it, then go ahead and upgrade it, if you decided to purchase a new device this might be a good option too, if you are interested to test a new experience and get familiar with with windows 11 from now then windows 11 should be ok.

in both cases, whether you decide to upgrade your computer or get a new one, we are here always here to assist you.
